Welcome to the CMS Laptop Network Service (Wired and Wireless)

Authenticating to Use the CMS Laptop Network Service

  • eduroam - JANET Roaming Service : wireless and wired eduroam
  • Raven for University staff and students (and academic visitors who have Raven passwords)
  • Lapwing - visitors can ask at CMS reception
  • lapnet

START with these steps if this is the first time you are using this service

  1. Apply for an account to use this service (if you do not already have one):
    • Raven, probably via your local computer officer
    • eduroam
    • lapnet visitor account
  2. Configure your computer
  3. Find a wireless zone or use a wired, labelled, wall socket
  4. Authenticate using one of:
    • Raven
    • eduroam/JANET Roaming Service (wireless only)
    • lapnet (also available for visitors)
  5. Backups - laptop data backup service for DAMTP people
  6. Printing
